worship arts – leadership team
Sharon leads the worship team in helping to prepare music for Sunday services, special services, and gatherings. However, the main focus of her and her team is for God to use them to guide the congregation to whole-hearted worship. In addition to her involvement in various choral and orchestral programs during school, Sharon spent two years in the Philippines for both personal musical pursuits as well as the opportunity to be a part of a church planting. Sharon began attending SVBC in 2007 and soon became a part of the worship team. The more she became involved, the more she realized her love for serving God through music. Aside from music, she loves going to zoos and museums, road trips, and experiencing new places and cultures through cuisine.
Tim is passionate about three areas of ministry: discipleship, teaching/preaching, and leading a team toward implementation of mission and vision. Tim and his wife Jessica were missionaries with WorldVenture in Kigali, Rwanda, from 2004-2018, where they served in leadership training and theological education. Tim and Jessica have been a part of Skokie Valley Baptist since 1997. During those pre-Rwanda years, Tim worked as SVBC's janitor and as youth pastor until the church commissioned and sent the Brubakers to Rwanda. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute (B.A., Pastoral Studies), Trinity International University (M.Div.), and Regent University (Ph.D., Org Leadership).
Tim and Jessica have four children: Thomas, Martin, Cecilia, and Eliza. In his personal time, Tim loves running, reading, roasting coffee, and playing games with his family.
Dana graduated from Valparaiso University, with a bachelor's degree in biology and a strong desire to see the world. He went to work in the airline industry with Northwest Airlines which lasted some 13 years. Things seemed a bit more serious after the birth of his son, prompting a return to school, where he received a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. After graduation, Dana went to work in a corporate law office before relocating with his family to Libertyville, IL. Before coming into his current position as Executive Pastor, Dana has been employed for the last 17 years in both the Pharmaceutical and Insurance/Finance industries. If one is charitable, he could be referred to as "golfaholic" ("although, that's a stretch according to my performance"). Moreover, Dana is a voracious "foodie," and an unrestrained lover jazz music.
