Our Goal
SVBC's Youth and Children's program's goal is to support parents and families in the spiritual training and instruction of the Lord to our students. Eph. 6:4

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday school classes are the best way to learn God's Word. The morning should be the best time to study and learn (unless you've stayed up too late). Sunday school is a small group strategy that guides people to come to know Jesus and then begin to deepen their lives in evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and worship. The goal of the teaching that takes place during the Sunday School hour is to lead people to become committed followers of Christ through the weekly explanation of the scriptures. Sunday school is from 9:45-10:45 a.m.

Classes meet every Sunday morning during the Sunday school hour.
Two and three years old
Four through kindergarten
First and second grades
Third through fifth grades
Sixth through eighth grades
High School

NURSERY ROOM 100
The nursery is staffed with wonderful volunteers who will watch over your precious children under two years old, during the 11:00 A.M. worship service.

The Nursery is open for parents to watch their own children during the 8:30 A.M. service and Sunday School at 9:45 A.M.

We are a church who cares for children and their families. We realize how difficult it can be to worship with a fussy baby or toddler. We are committed to providing a loving, nurturing atmosphere in our nursery and toddler classroom. It is our purpose for all children who enter to have the opportunity to know and experience, from an early age, the love of God. All volunteers are carefully screened prior to working in any children's programs. We also offer a crying space behind the glass in the sanctuary where parents can stay with their children and still be able to listen and watch the sermon.

In Children's church children will learn about the love of Jesus and have fun doing it! Our Children's Church is a year long program that runs on Sunday mornings during the 11:00 A.M. service for two years old through kindergarten. This program gives parents an opportunity to worship totally focused on their own spiritual growth and relationship with the Lord during the 11:00 A.m. service.

Our Kids Church is a school year bible teaching program that features H.I.S. Co. a Kids worship choir some weeks. All this happens during the 11am service on the 2nd 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month (See schedule). Kids Church consists of a weekly Bible lesson, bible based activities and special worship instruction and musical teaching during His Co. Kids' Church featuring HIS Co. . Kids will learn music reading skills, vocal technique and performance skills. There will also be Bible teaching related to the songs we are learning. We will perform two musicals during the year and sing periodically in the worship services. All kids in grades 1-5 are invited to participate.

Why Kids Church intentionally does not meet on some Sundays.
We intentionally do not have Kids church the first Sunday of the month for communion Sunday. Parents and adults have to be given the chance to model worship for their children. Worship is one of the basic ways people learn what it means to be Christian. Bringing children to worship may not always be easy, but it is an essential part of their growth in Christ. The Body of Christ assembled is incomplete in their absence. We need children.

AWANA
Each Wednesday night, starting mid-September until the end of April, from 6:45-8:15 p.m. for children from 3 yrs. to 5th grade (age 3 by Sept. 1 and potty trained) meet for a time of fun activities, centered on learning about Jesus.

AWANA Clubs are a great tool in bringing up our children in the Lord. The AWANA program has a strong focus' on scripture memory. The founders of AWANA derived the AWANA name from the first letters of "Approved workmen are not ashamed" as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 of the Bible.

Everyone can jump! Meet us for 2 hours of jumping fun at “Pump it up” 1857 Elmdale Ave. Glenview IL. Cost is $5 per person. Includes pizza snack and drinks!
