Ministry Experience:

Pastor Tim Beavis was born and raised in beautiful Cornwall in the southwest of England. He came to know Jesus as his personal Savior at the age of 14. After studying his Bachelors in Business and Hospitality Management in Birmingham, UK Tim worked in management with Marriott Hotels in London. It was during this time that the Lord led him to the USA to serve as an Urban Youth worker in Camden, NJ.  After a year and a half in Camden, Tim moved to Chicago to study for his Masters Degree at Moody Bible Institute Graduate School. While at Moody Tim met his lovely wife Lisa and they were married in May 2001.

Lisa grew up as a Missionary Kid in the Republic of Panama but has lived in Illinois for the past 10 years. She studied Spanish at the University of Wisconsin, Parkside and earned her MDiv from Moody Graduate School. She loves working with other women and sharing with them the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Tim and Lisa arrived at The Orchard Church in the summer of 2007 after successfully planting and leading Rogers Park Community Church on the north side of Chicago for the past 6 years.

Tim loves reading, hiking, drinking coffee, and cooking up a storm - when he gets the chance (just so long as he doesn't have to do the dishes!) Lisa enjoys taking bike rides, drawing, and reading. She also speaks Spanish.

General Prayer Requests:
  • Pray for the forward movement over the challenges and obstacles that come with a church plant.

  • Pray for them as they build and redesign ministries and for the challenging task of rebuilding trust in an environment where people have been hurt by the actions of previous leadership.

  • Pray for the church to meet their financial support goal.
