OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES
“DOOR OF HOPE” MEN’S SHELTER OUTREACH PROJECT EXTENDED
SVBC is sponsoring an Outreach Project for the “Door of Hope” men’s shelter on the south side of Chicago. We are asking everyone to choose a “gift tag” from the display board in our church lobby that includes cash donations (checks made payable to SVBC with “Door of Hope” in the memo) and new men’s clothing items. Please return your contributions by Sunday, Feb. 12! We will be delivering the items to the shelter the following week. Jesus said that He came to “preach good news to the poor.” (Luke 4:18) This is our opportunity to preach “good news” to homeless men as we help in changing lives. For more information, contact Pastor Dave or the church office.
FOOD PANTRY NEEDS DONATIONS
Many people in need come to our church during the week for food assistance and we are so blessed to have a Food Pantry here to offer them. Right now our Food Pantry is running low on staple items to offer people and their families. You can participate by donating non-perishable items such as soup, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce and peanut butter. Please bring all donations for the Food Pantry to the church office.
“HILDA’S PLACE” HOMELESS SHELTER MINISTRY
We are looking for future volunteers to help serve dinner each month to the residents of Hilda's Place, a homeless shelter in Evanston. If you are unable to donate your time, Hilda’s Place still needs your donations! See our main bulletin board today for information regarding what items are needed to keep their kitchen running smoothly. Most items are inexpensive and available at the dollar store. For more information, please contact Rich LeVeque.
