AWANA

Each Wednesday night, starting mid-September until the end of April, from 6:45–8:15 p.m. for children from 3 yrs. to 5th grade (age 3 by Sept. 1 and potty trained) meet for a time of fun activities, centered on learning about Jesus. Borderline Ministries

A new ministry for young adults meets every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. in the Youth Loft. We have a time of worship, fellowship, sharing life together, and solid Bible study. Open to all young adults in their 20s (and late teens), single, married, or hopeful.

Breakthrough Urban Ministries

Serves a variety of needs in Garfield Park.  Members from our church prepare and provide meals as well as tutoring.

Food Pantry

We have a Food Pantry at SVBC that all are welcome to use and we appreciate any donations.

Hilda's Place-Feeding the Homeless

This outreach ministry is to help feed the homeless through Hilda's Place in Evanston.  Hilda's Place is the only shelter north of Chicago to the state line and east of the Tri-State Tollway that focuses on transition to independence . . . that provides comprehensive, integrated support services as well as year-round, emergency and short-term housing. The shelter accommodates 34 adults and is open 365 nights a year.  The program coordinates volunteers from our church on the first Tuesday of every month.

Hospitality/Greeting Ministry

We have an exciting ministry here at church made up of volunteers who welcome our visitors, members and regular attendees each Sunday at the beginning of our service.  If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Pastor Dave.

Jam Nite

This is an exciting ministry at SVBC each year.  It is a night of uplifiting worship music, all song requests must be submitted to Pastor Tim Stern for approval.  We also have refreshments and treats.  The next Jam Nite is Sunday, February 27,, at 7:00 p.m.  Be sure to join us!  For more information or to participate, contact Pastor Tim Stern

Junior and Senior High Youth Groups

Our student ministries are committed to helping 6th-12th grade students move forward in their relationships with Christ.  This is done through a balance of winning, building, and equipping students to serve God and others.  The youth meet Wednesday and Sunday nights.

Nursery Ministry

Our volunteers provide childcare for ages 0–2 during our 11:00 a.m. service. Our self-serve nursery is available for adults watching their own children 3 years old and under from 8:30–10:45 a.m.; all children are always welcome in our services.
