AWANA
Each Wednesday night, starting mid-September until the end of April, from 6:45–8:15 p.m. for children from 3 yrs. to 5th grade (age 3 by Sept. 1 and potty trained) meet for a time of fun activities, centered on learning about Jesus. Borderline Ministries
A new ministry for young adults meets every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. in the Youth Loft. We have a time of worship, fellowship, sharing life together, and solid Bible study. Open to all young adults in their 20s (and late teens), single, married, or hopeful.

Breakthrough Urban Ministries

Hilda's Place-Feeding the Homeless
This outreach ministry is to help feed the homeless through Hilda's Place in Evanston. Hilda's Place is the only shelter north of Chicago to the state line and east of the Tri-State Tollway that focuses on transition to independence . . . that provides comprehensive, integrated support services as well as year-round, emergency and short-term housing. The shelter accommodates 34 adults and is open 365 nights a year. The program coordinates volunteers from our church on the first Tuesday of every month.

Hospitality/Greeting Ministry

Interfaith House
Serves homeless people recovering from hospitalization. A team from our church prepares and serves meals there.

Jam Nite
This is an exciting new ministry to SVBC this year. We had our first session this Oct. 2009, and it was wonderfully attended with over 70 people. It is a night of modern worship music, all song requests must be submitted to Pastor Tim Stern for approval. We also have a coffee refreshments and treats. Nursery Ministry
Our volunteers provide childcare for ages 0–2 during our 11:00 a.m. service. Our self-serve nursery is available for adults watching their own children 3 years old and under from 8:30–10:45 a.m.; all children are always welcome in our services. Click here for volunteer schedule.
