Relationship to SVBC:  Home Church:  Tim attended SVBC  2002-2004 and was active as a volunteer with the youth ministry.

Primary Ministry Focus:  Training of congregation members to promote the growth and development of existing Mexican churches.  Training  and development of emerging Christian leaders by equipping and discipleship to enable them to reach out to Mexico.

Direct evangelism to the unreached, especially a local indigenous Kumiai tribe.

The People:  Mexico is a Spanish-speaking country with most of the people being biracial Caucasian and  Indian.  It is estimated that about 88% of the people are Roman Catholic and about 4-6% are Evangelical.  The Kumiai Tribe is currently represented by 13 reservations in Southern California and 4 reservations know as “ejidos” in Mexico.  The Kumiai Tribe represents one of the largest of 10 tribes of Indians native to the Baja California area.

Ministry Experience:  Tim earned a Bachelors Degree in history at Wheaton College and a Masters Degree in missions at Wheaton College Graduate School.  After college he worked as a missionary reaching out to homeless children living on the streets of Mexico City.  After 5 years experience in the corporate world, Tim moved to Tecate, Mexico in 2004 and worked with the local churches in training and developing Christian leaders.

Tim plans to continue with training Christian leaders in Tecate through BGC.

General Prayer Requests:

Dear prayer supporters:

There is much to keep in prayer. Please pray for the following:
1) a home for a Kumiai family that lost theirs due to a fire. They are currently literally living under a tree.
2) For Joaquine and his family. They were set to be under a discipleship program with a local pastor. That is having difficulty as Joaquine is prone to drinking. Please pray that this vice will be broken in his life and the health of his family will stabilize.
3) Please pray for a water-filtration project with the Kumiai. A local church will be coming up on September 19th to do a workshop and build 7 portable water filters for the Kumiai so they can have clean and potable water.
4) Please pray for a church visit later in September and an important missionary team meeting in mid September.
5) Please pray for an important team meeting for the Christian Development Center September 20th.
5) Please pray for the health of your missionary.

Thank you for your continued prayers. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
Take care,
Tim Nash

Dear prayer supporters,

An update on Jose Luis Aguilar.

It is a miracle that he is still alive. He is being scheduled for quadruple bypass surgery either today or tomorrow. It is a miracle that he was able to leave the hospital in Tijuana and cross the border by ambulance and make it to Sharp Memorial. Tijuana hospital misdiagnosed his condition and didn't even believe he had a heart attack. They most certainly would have mistreated the problem and sent him away to his death. Please pray for Jose and his family as they place themselves in God's hands.

Take care,
Tim
