Relationship to SVBC: Home church:  Attended SVBC from 1987-1993 during seminary training at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield . Pastoral staff 1992-93.

Primary Ministry Focus: Carleton joined the US Army as a chaplain in 1993.  He has been assigned to Germany , US bases, and Korea .  January 2006 he began a one year tour of duty in Afghanistan .  His ministry involves counseling, training, and leading worship services. 
After returning from Afghanistan Carleton become Deputy Installation Chaplain at Fort Drum in New York.  In September he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.

The People:  Carleton ministers to the US Army personnel.

Ministry Experience: Carleton:  Associate pastor for 1 year following his seminary training.  He has taken an intensive one year course in Family Life Counseling at Columbia State University .  His major focus has been in family counseling, and suicide prevention programs.  In Korea he conducted retreats for different units and preached in some local Korean churches besides speaking in the Korean Military chapels.
